Peachtree MiddlePeachtree Middle School is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Secretary to handle a variety of administrative support assignments.
The candidate should have strong clerical skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge of business English, general vocabulary, math, and basic office practices required.
Ability to learn established policies and procedures, the ability to work harmoniously with other employees, and the ability to meet and deal with the general public in an effective and tactful manner are essential.

Secretary To perform highly skilled and responsible secretarial work in support of a supervisor and to assist with office and routine administrative duties.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are representative for this position.

oObtains, compiles, organizes and prepares information and data for various reports, meetings; ensures that information packages are complete and meet guidelines for submissions; prepares meeting agendas, record minutes; prepares physical setting for meeting.
oAssist the immediate supervisor with the management of daily office operations, communications, meetings, schedules and events.
oOrders and maintains supplies and equipment, executes purchase orders, ensure timely payment of all purchases in accordance with the school district guideline.
oRespond to requests and inquiries from students, faculty, staff and parents.
oManages incoming and outgoing mail, assembles mail.
oReceives and screens office visitors and telephone calls, identifies matters requiring priority handling and brings them to attention of supervisor; receives and refers concerns raised by students, parents, personnel or other constituents.
oPerforms related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR
Experience:
oAssociate's degree or equivalent completed college course work relative to general office procedures, bookkeeping and computer entry from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university is preferred.
oHigh school diploma or GED equivalent required.
oMinimum three (3) years experience in general office procedures, bookkeeping and computer entry required or an equivalent combination of courses and responsible office/clerical experience required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
